

If I should describe as a barbarian a Thai food, I would say rice plus meat and something spicy, but when the result is always delicious, nicely balanced and light.
Rice is prepared on different ways: steamed rice, deep fried rice, stir-fried rice, boiled rice or rice noodles, wide noodles, thiny noodles, crispy noodles. Thai chiefs serve all kinds of meat, fish, shrimps or crabs, chicken, pork or beef. I can hardly compare it, because I allways stay by sea products. Wonderfull, balanced food is achieved by combining rice, meat and sauce. Variety of sauces, hot, sweet, sour or salty.
Thai food is known for using of fresh herbs as for example mint, lemon grass or basilis. As well ginger, garlic, soya souce, curry or chilly are typical flavors. And we can not forget on fish sauce. It gives meal a special salty taste.
Thailand has a great variety of restaurants, ranging from cheap but delicious Thai food to foreign restaurants with the most luxurious food, but still for very acceptable prices. You will not be mistaken even if you try street cousine.
